Seattle Bits & Bites was founded in September 2016 by traveler, travel blogger and podcaster, Mary Jo Manzanares.
The motivation came from her combined love of travel, wine, and her home state of Washington. This eventually evolved into a quest to visit every winery in the state (somewhere around 900 of them), and the quest quickly grew into a reality and this website.
The site is about more than just winery and wines, although a large part of the content will relate to that. But you’ll also find information about all the things that pair naturally with wine, including events, festivals, restaurants, food, attractions, and tips. You’ll also find hotel and other lodging information – please do not drink and drive. The content will incorporates stories, news, reviews, photos, video, and a podcast.
Mary Jo blogs at Traveling with MJ with a focus on value luxury travel, helping readers learn when to splurge and when to save. She has a weekly podcast at Where Else to Go where she helps listeners decide where to go. . . and where else to go. She is also the founder and editor-in-chief of The Travelers Way, providing practical information for baby boomer travelers. Mary Jo has been a speaker at numerous tourism industry events and also consults with tourism clients on social media and working with bloggers.
When she’s not traveling or enjoying a glass of wine, she enjoys a great meal, spa pampering, wandering in a museum, and a good book.
