Seattle Wine & Food Experience Weekend: February 24-26, 2017

By the time late February rolls around, it seems like I need a pick-me-up to banish away the rainy winter days. A great way to do that is at the 9th annual Seattle Wine and Food Experience, February 24-26, 2017, a weekend of feasting and drinking activities that celebrates the region’s food and beverage scene. More than 600 wines are available for tasting throughout the weekend along with a huge selection of breweries, ciders and distilleries. The weekend features three events, giving you the option to attend one or splurge on a weekend of all three.

Three events tempt you:

Pop! Bubbles & Seafood – Celebrate bites of the Pacific Northwest’s delicious seafood paired with more than 30 sparkling wines from around the world. Offerings include:  West Coast sparkling wines, Spanish Cava, Champagne and Italian Prosecco, plus seafood-friendly white wines. Reserve red wines, the Callebaut Chocolate Lounge and a Celebrity Saber-Off competition top off the evening.

Friday night, February 24th, 2017, 6–9 pm, at McCaw Hall on the Seattle Center campus. Tickets are $85.

Comfort! – It’s the inaugural appearance for the event which features Seattle’s best feel-good foods and crafty brews from mac and cheese to burgers, beer, cider, hot toddies and more! Indulge on sweet and savory bites from local gastropubs and taverns while sipping on a diverse array of craft beverages. Tasty features include the Bloody Mary station, a Hot Toddy bar and the new Fry Bar, where Washington State Potatoes are fried up to crispy goodness and dressed up at the condiment bar.

Saturday night, February 25th, 2017, 5-8 pm, at The Freemont Foundry (154 North 35th Street, Seattle). Tickets are $55.

Grand Tasting – The creme de la crem, this is a deluxe showcase for wine, beverage, food, and lifestyle in the Northwest featuring 25 chefs, 100 wineries and dozens of beer, cider and spirits purveyors. Sip and taste your way through the afternoon as you discover the best of the Pacific Northwest.

Sunday afternoon, February 26th, 2017, 1-5 pm, at Settle Center Exhibition Hall. Tickets are $70. A VIP admission ticket ($90) gets you in at noon.

A Weekend Pass package that includes admission to all three events is available for $220.
